Hamish Galloway comes to School

Last Friday St Joseph’s School held a mufti day and raised $305 for the Leukaemia and Blood Cancer Foundation NZ. The Whakatane Firefighters competing in the Firefighters Skytower Challenge for this worthy cause raised the second largest amount of money overall.

Some of our students and Ms Elrick decorated a fireman’s helmet which was worn by Hamish Galloway during the race. This fantastic helmet was awarded second place. An excellent result all round!

40hr Famine

This week we had a group of Whakatane High Students come in to help us with raising funds for the 40hr Famine.

We did a coin trail around a chalk drawing then painted our hands and left our hand prints on a piece of cloth.

Holy Thursday Re-inactment

For Holy Thursday the staff re-inacted the Holy Thursday Story.

Swimming Sports 2012

Friday 24th of February, 9am St Joseph’s had their school Swimming Sports at the Whakatane Aquatic Centre. Our aim was to do our best and support each other.

Last Thursday our seniors held their annual social.

The theme this year was “New York Alley”

The atmosphere was electric, our young ladies and young gentleman were a picture to behold.
